Vertex Maintenance Group is now hiring for multiple Facility Maintenance Technicians. The company is headquartered in Denham Springs and is the fastest growing building & facility maintenance company in South Louisiana serving schools, banks, grocery & convenience stores and more.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and safety of our facility by performing regular maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment for all staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.
• Respond to and troubleshoot maintenance requests from staff in a timely and efficient manner.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of equipment, machinery, and building components as needed.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
• Assist with general housekeeping and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure building security systems are functioning properly, including doors, alarms, and access controls.
• Manage the upkeep of exterior grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
• Maintain clear records of all maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory usage.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized services or repairs as required.
• Assist with emergency repairs and maintenance issues as they arise.
Desired Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in facility maintenance or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, if needed.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, and general construction.
